As an organization which also support women in entrepreneurship and business, we were part of the U.S. Embassy Zimbabwe and Women’s University in Africa organized gathering in commemoration of the Women’s themed Women Leading Globally: A conversation about leadership.
We were ably represented by our CEO Dr. Kudzanai Vere – DrK who is also the Regional Coordinator for Centre for Business and Entrepreneurship Development a continental institution spearheading an entrepreneurship revolution in Africa towards the Africa Continental Free Trade Area.
Today we witnessed a true taste of wisdom endowed in these global leaders forming the panel. Indeed these women are iconic and well deserving of their positions. They impacted and inspired almost everyone gathered as they shared their own stories, challenges and keys to success. Five leadership virtues came out of the discussion namely Commitment, Accountability, Resilience, Hope and Courage.
The need to connect with your followers downloading the vision that you have in them is one hallmark of leadership which surfaced in the discussions.
The discussion was professionally moderated by the Zimbabwe Gender Commission Commissioner Naome Chimbetete .
Women indeed used to be hewers of wood fetchers of water, cookers whose main job was bearing children but not in this era. Women have Infact proved to be even better leaders than their male counterparts.
As Institute of Entrepreneurs Zimbabwe, we remain committed to working with women empowering them with practical entrepreneurship skills.
